About AOH Milwaukee
Who We Are
Faith. Friendship. Service.
The Ancient Order of Hibernians is America's oldest Irish Catholic Fraternal organization. As a Fraternal order, we share a special camaraderie, centered around a common cause. Our Division and the broader Order work to foster, preserve, and cultivate Irish culture locally and around the world.
Cultural & Community
- The division promotes Irish culture through a variety of activities, including music, dance, sports, and art.
- We provide support to local organizations, particularly focusing on educational initiatives, charitable fundraising, and scholarship programs for Milwaukee schools.
Partnerships & Events
- The division partners with organizations like CelticMKE and the Shamrock Club to host events that celebrate Irish culture and community spirit.
- Members participate in local events like the Milwaukee St. Patrick's Day parade, Irish Fest, Taste of Ireland, and more — ever seeking to foster camaraderie among the Irish Catholic and broader community.
Our History
1836 to Today
The AOH, founded in 1836, has a long history of advocating for Irish immigrants and their descendants in the United States. Our Milwaukee division — the Rev. William J. Kelly, S.J. Division — was established on July 15, 1880. We continue this legacy by addressing the needs of the Irish Catholic community in Milwaukee, ensuring the preservation of their cultural identity and providing support to its members.
